Jessica Arterton became the 3rd MMBF Rising Star Of The Year.
Jessica Arterton is a British Actress from Medway in Kent, born in 1998. During her childhood and teenage years she quickly gained an aptitude towards performing arts and gymnastics, showcasing her talents in competitions all over the country.
Attending St. John's Catholic Comprehensive School till 2015 when she joined Sir Joseph Williamson's Mathematical School's sixth form. Excelling at A-Levels, she was awarded a place at King's College London to study Classics and Latin. After training at the Pauline Quirke Academy since she was 14, at 16 she was cast as Nancy, the lead character in James Crow's horror House of Salem, and at 18 was cast in the supporting role of Jennifer in the third instalment of the We Still Kill The Old Way franchise; We Still Die The Old Way.
Commenting on the award she said "To even be considered for an award when I've only been actively a part of this industry for just over two years is amazing, and I'm so grateful to have been recognised and even acknowledged by the industry's professionals. Thank you so much, and hopefully it allows me to carry on with the opportunity to work and study what I love simultaneously in London and opens more doors for me in the future."
